About the

#DV! EP Elections 2024 Campaign!

#DiasporaVote! launched a project in the summer of 2023 with the aim of promoting a more inclusive EU by encouraging increased political participation from the BIPOC community across EU Member States for the European Parliament elections in June 2024. Given the emergence of anti-inclusive policies and laws, this project plays a crucial role in ensuring that the voices of all Europeans are heard and represented in the European Parliament in the coming years.

Our Mission

We want to give the diaspora more opportunities when it comes to the implication in activism and politics at the local and global level.

Our Vision

We dream of a Europe where Members of the European parliaments can better represent the racialized diaspora living in Europe and vote policies ensuring the protection of their rights as European citizens.

Post-Election Commitments

Following the election, we’ll convene for a two-day in-person meeting in Brussels in
October 2024.

This pivotal gathering will serve as a platform to reflect on the campaign’s outcomes, assess progress in representation for people of color and marginalized communities, and engage with newly elected MEPs and EU commissioners to secure commitments in the fight against racism. 

Community Engagement

Our trained youth ambassadors are currently planning impactful national Events across their respective countries, shedding light on the significance of the EP elections.

With the steadfast support of  #DiasporaVote! and our partners, they’re leveraging their
expertise to organise compelling events, gain access to MEP candidates, and ignite
conversations that matter.
At the moment we are organising campaigns in:

Capacity Building

Our ambassadors underwent online training courses designed to equip them with the
knowledge and skills to become DiasporaVote! ambassadors.
From community engagement to digital literacy and event management, they delved deep into various facets of advocacy and leadership.

This comprehensive training culminated in an enriching in-person training held in Brussels in December 2023, covering critical topics such as EU policy-making, EP elections, EU – US relations, Public speaking, Journalism and media.
The training was developed and provided by youth volunteers with the support of partners.
