#DiasporaVote! Training

The goal of #DiasporaVote! campaign in 2018 was to sensitize the Europeans diaspora to the European elections. By offering them the tools to understand the European machine, we arm them and encourage them by providing them a framework and a device to get involved in the European Union of today and tomorrow. the objective of the initiative being to encourage young people from sensitive neighbourhoods’ far removed from politics to feel European and want to participate in political life through voting. Peer to Peer learning is something important that deserves to be explored further.

The first activity took place from December 6 to December 7, 2018. During these two days, 9 young French and Belgian from the African diaspora present in Brussels benefited from a  visit of the European Parliament in Belgium, meet the representatives of the European Commission, the European Parliament and Council of the European Union. They received a training developed specifically for them by Sarah Gane and Adélaïde Hirwe on elections and European institutions, and their impact at the local level. They also received communication and press training by Anna Toumazou & Cynthia Mukendy.
